Chemical Decapsulation

Chemical Decapsulation is the process of removing molding compound from the chip surface of encapsulated devices. Molding compound is removed only from the area above the chip and bond wires. Reasons for decapsulation includes electrical testing, fault isolation, circuit edit and optical imaging for die design, dimension, die marking, logo etc.
